Kipp D. Owen was appointed Director – Street and Racing Technology (SRT), Chrysler Group on Jan. 30, 2006. In his position, Owen is responsible for managing the development of Chrysler Group's high-performance production vehicles, such as the Dodge Viper SRT10, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT8 and Dodge Caliber SRT4, as well as Mopar Performance Parts engineering and the company's motorsports engineering efforts. Owen joined DaimlerChrysler Corporation 1985, and subsequently held a series of increasingly responsible positions within the Truck, Activity and Premium Vehicle Product Team Engineering organizations. Most recently, he served as Director – Proving Grounds and Durability Testing. Owen holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He also has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan – Dearborn.
